Unique is about the things that make you different — the ones you were told to hide and the ones you're learning to own. Accepting is the harder poem. It's about what happens when you stop fighting everything that hasn't gone to plan.
UNIQUE
They say uniqueness is standing apart,
A bright shining star with a fearless heart.
But I've learned it's more than just being bold,
It's embracing the story only you can unfold.
It's the quirks that make me who I am,
The way I laugh, the way I stand.
It's the dreams I chase, even when they're far,
And knowing that I don't need to be a star.
Unique is finding beauty in what others don't see,
It's owning your truth, just being me.
It's the courage to walk a path all your own,
And knowing you're enough, fully grown.
It's the way I see the world through my eyes,
The way I paint it with colors that never disguise.
It's in the words I speak, the art I create,
The things that make me, well, truly great.
Unique isn't something you can fake or find,
It's a spark in your soul, one of a kind.
It's being unapologetically you,
And knowing the world is better for it too.
ACCEPTING
They say accepting is letting go of control,
It's finding peace, making room for the soul.
But I've learned it's more than just saying "okay,"
It's welcoming life, come what may.
It's the way you embrace what's out of your hands,
Trusting that things will fall into plans.
It's seeing the flaws and loving them still,
And letting go of the need to fulfill.
Accepting is knowing that we all have our place,
That not everything's perfect, but that's okay in grace.
It's loving yourself through each mistake,
And understanding that growth takes time to make.
It's finding strength in what's hard to accept,
And knowing it's okay to feel inept.
It's letting the world unfold in its own way,
And trusting the journey will show you the way.
Accepting isn't about settling for less,
It's about finding peace in life's mess.
It's a gentle heart, a quiet mind,
Embracing the beauty in what you find.
