Unlike most scholarships on this site, this one doesn't require you to already be in college. If you're in Class 9, 10, 11, or 12 right now, this applies to you directly — not “in a couple of years,” today.
What It Is
The Mahindra EmpowerHer Scholarship Program 2026–27 is a CSR initiative by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, offering financial support to girl students from SC, ST, or OBC communities and low-income families. It's one of the few active scholarships open to school students, not just those already in college — it covers Classes 9 through 12, as well as general undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
What You Get
A fixed scholarship award of ₹5,500. It's a one-time award rather than a recurring annual one, but for a school-age student, it's real, no-fee money toward books, fees, or other academic costs — and applying takes far less effort than the amount is worth.
Who Can Apply
A girl student, currently in Class 9, 10, 11, or 12, OR pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a general discipline (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, or equivalent PG courses).
Belonging to SC, ST, or OBC communities.
Scored at least 50% marks in the most recent academic year or semester (if you're waiting on results, you can apply using your previous year's marks).
Annual family income of ₹4,00,000 or below, from all sources.
Resident of India. Children of Mahindra & Mahindra or Buddy4Study employees are not eligible.
Documents You'll Need
Aadhaar card or other government ID proof
Previous year's mark sheet (showing at least 50%)
Current year admission proof — school/college ID, bonafide certificate, or latest fee receipt
Income certificate for the family
Bank account details (passbook copy or cancelled cheque, in the applicant's name or a joint account with a parent)

Log in to Buddy4Study, or register with your email, mobile number, or Google account if you're new.
You'll be redirected to the Mahindra EmpowerHer Scholarship Program application page.
Click 'Start Application' and complete the 'Check Your Eligibility' form first.
Fill in the full application and upload your documents.
Accept the terms and conditions, preview your entries carefully, and submit.
The Deadline
Applications close September 21, 2026. That's about a month away as of this post — enough time to gather documents without rushing, but not so much time that it's worth putting off.

Why This One's Worth Flagging
Most scholarships aimed at girl students only kick in once you've already reached college — which is exactly the point where a lack of earlier support can already have narrowed someone's options. A scholarship that reaches back into Class 9 is reaching students at a stage most programs skip entirely.
