About Daughters of India: Our Mission and Programs

Daughters of India exists to give girls the practical skills — financial, educational, and interpersonal — that too often go untaught, and to connect them with mentors and role models who've walked the path before them.

What We Actually Do

• Mentorship Program — a structured, 12-month program pairing girls ages 7-18 with mentors through the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood

• Finance Matters — hands-on financial literacy sessions teaching budgeting, saving, and money fundamentals directly to teen girls

• The Read Aloud Project — supporting reading culture and forensic literacy across partner schools

• This blog — Whispers Within (personal essays), Her Story (historical women's biographies), and practical guides on health, school, career, and money

Why This Focus

Girls' education programs often stop at academic support. We focus specifically on the skills that determine independence later in life — financial confidence, self-advocacy, and having real mentors to ask the questions that are hard to ask at home or school.
